Mighty Thomas Carnival returns to the Montana State Fair, bring new and exciting rides. Riders will feel the sensation of crashing waves and the rush of the desert wind at the Monana State Fair. Two new rides set up on the Mighty Thomas Carnival midway will include the Melvillian-themed Moby Dick thrill ride that whisks rides over 30 feet into the air on a revolving platform, and the serpentine Cobra Coaster that undulates about its track through desert scenery, twisting through turns and hills.

The Fire Chief is another recent addition to the Thomas Carnival midway. The big red fire engine swoops through the air, carrying delighted children (and adults) along for the ride. The fire Chief can be found in the kiddieland park area of the fair.
