Miss Rodeo State Fair
CALLING ALL COWGIRLS
It's time once again for Montana cowgirls to smile their best smiles. The Miss Rodeo State Fair Contest is just around the corner. The pageant will be held in conjunction with the PRCA Rodeo and the State Fair, August 3, 4 and 5 th. Girls ages 8 - 22 will compete for three titles; Queen, Princess and Little Miss. With a three day schedule packed full of exciting competitions, many of which are open and free to the public. This is the second year for the pageant which has brought a new element of fun to the State Fair. The girls will be photographed by a professional photographer for the photogenic award, compete in horsemanship and give speeches related to the State Fair theme "Play Your Heart Out". They will have a personal interview, horsemanship interview and written test. On Friday the glitter of Rodeo Queen Pageantry will be at its peak with the girls modeling their own western elegance as well as beautiful western wear from the pageants modeling sponsor, Big R. Following this the crowd will be entertained by a group dance to the theme song "Rodeo Queen". The finale will take place on the Three Rivers Stage where our very own 2005 Queen, Princess and Little Miss will be crowned.
The Miss Rodeo State Fair Queen, Princess and Little Miss symbolizes the young women of the great state of Montana who wish to further promote the sport of rodeo, and in doing so promote the western way of life that this great state has to offer. While spreading goodwill throughout her community and the State of Montana, Miss Rodeo State Fair will garner the richest experience of her life while laying the foundation for her future. These young women want to be a leader in their community. They love horses, rodeo and all that they represent. They will serve as an ambassador to rodeo and the general public, portraying excellence in sportsmanship, high morals and ethical characteristics. They understand the sport of rodeo and the people that enjoy rodeo as a professional sport and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others.
Rodeo Queen Pageantry, rich in history and western tradition dates back almost 50 years. Girls, 18 to 22 years of age compete in local PRCA Rodeo Queen Pageants for the chance to later compete for the coveted title of Miss Rodeo Montana. The Rodeo Montana Pageant, entering its sixth decade offers a one-of-a-kind experience and numerous opportunities for the future of its title holders. Miss Rodeo Montana serves as Montana's "First Lady of Rodeo" She attends Montana's professional rodeos, appears in parades and at many community events throughout the state, gives countless speeches to clubs and organizations, numerous radio and television interviews, and coordinates kiddie rodeos. She also will travel to some of the larger rodeos in the US and Canada, representing Montana and promoting our own rodeos. At the end of her year of reign, Miss Rodeo Montana travels to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete for the title of Miss Rodeo America during a rigorous week-long competition against other state title holders.
