Colgate Country Showdown
Saturday, July 30, 3- 5 pm
The Colgate Country Showdown begins each spring with more than400 local talent contests sponsored by country music radio stations throughout the US. Winners advance to their respective state competitions held at leading fairs and expositions. Acts then compete for a $1,000 prize, the state title and the opportunity to advance to one of six regional finals. It's the last step before the prestigious national finals, televised to a national audience from country music's most exciting venues. |

Montana Old-Time Fiddlers
Incorporating the talents of children and adults, these fiddlers perform a variety of music ranging from old time fiddle & country western to waltzes & hoedowns. Although they have performed at the Fair before, this will be their first year in the park.

CMR Wranglers
Baton twirling and high kicking, these girls dance to a mix of music. In addition to their own routines, they will also be performing with the Mini-Wranglers, younger dancers taught by the Wranglers.

From 9 to 79, these cloggers will keep you entertained throughout their performance. Mixing in steps from a variety of dance genres, the group dances to everything from bluegrass and country western to jazz and rock and roll.

Big Edd
The so-called world's largest steer, we think the extra "d" in Edd is for "Dang! That's a big steer." We're not sure exactly how big Big Edd is, except that he's very difficult to lift and even harder to squeeze into the back seat of a sedan. You won't want to miss seeing this amazing animal here at the Montana State Fair.

The show is family friendly that allows for audience interaction with the non-venomous animals.

Treasure State Flywheelers
Treasure State Flywheelers started back in 1979 in Great Falls, Montana. Where a group of men and women dedicated to preserving some of the past, acquired and restored antique tractors and stationary engines. At first these people met with each other because they had similar interest and hobbies. They would get together at someone's shop and fix or repair someone's flywheel engine or tractor. Soon they decided they should form a club and see about incorporating it. So in 1981, the Treasure State Flywheelers became incorporated.

Buddy the American Buffalo
"Buddy" is a two year old "Healing" Buffalo that visits children's hospitals. After being adopted by Sharon Bahr and Del Morris, Buddy moved from his home in Cheyenne , WY to Trinidad CA where he now tours area children's hospitals and schools. Come see this friendly, people loving bison throughout the Montana State Fair in the Family Living Park. |
