Big Edd
The so-called world's largest steer, we think the extra "d" in Edd is for "Dang! That's a big steer." We're not sure exactly how big Big Edd is, except that he's very difficult to lift and even harder to squeeze into the back seat of a sedan.

Treasure State Flywheelers
Treasure State Flywheelers started back in 1979 in Great Falls, Montana. Where a group of men and women dedicated to preserving some of the past, acquired and restored antique tractors and stationary engines. At first these people met with each other because they had similar interest and hobbies. They would get together at someone's shop and fix or repair someone's flywheel engine or tractor. Soon they decided they should form a club and see about incorporating it. So in 1981, the Treasure State Flywheelers became incorporated.

Great American Duck Races, July 30 thru August 4
Fair patrons will get a chance to race mallards at this year's Fair. The Great American Duck Races brought to Great Falls by Robert Duck (yes, it's true) of Bosque Farms, NM gets fairgoers of all ages involved in the show. It's the thrill of victory, or the agony of "webbed" feet when a participant races his duck. The mallards are trained to race down a water-filled lane -- heat winners receive a duck whistle and the final victor receives a duck sun visor.
Mallards gamely participating include "Mighty Duck, AFLAC, Tweety," and of course, "Daffy Duck." |
